P.E.P. Talk Group proudly launched its first in-prison Trucking & CDL Career Pathway Program at Solano State Prison in partnership with Wheels of Freedom – Reentry Trucking & CDL Entrepreneurship Program.

This initiative prepares justice-impacted individuals for stable, high-demand careers in commercial trucking before release, creating a structured pathway to economic independence.

Participants receive:

• Industry knowledge and CDL permit preparation
   
• Career planning and job-readiness coaching
   
• Entrepreneurship training, including owner-operator pathways
   
• Personal development and life-skills education
   
• Continued support through release and workforce transition
   

The trucking industry offers strong earning potential, immediate employment opportunities after release, and clear pathways to entrepreneurship — making it one of the most accessible and reentry-friendly career fields.

This program connects preparation inside the institution with continued support in the community, including mentorship and access to reentry-friendly employment opportunities.

Participants are selected based on demonstrated growth, accountability, and commitment through P.E.P. Talk’s Pre-Entry programming.

P.E.P. Talk plans to expand curriculum offerings, strengthen post-release support during the first 90 days, and build additional workforce pathways inside and outside the institution.
