PROBLEM STATEMENT:
We see an immediate future full of equal possibilities for everyone. We do not believe
that our current situations define the substance of our collective characters.
However, we are not blind to the fact that we must first work to reshape our current conduct to assist our communities in that prospective future. The following is what we have focused our viewpoints toward:
1)Magnifying the Common Unity in Community means we see and appreciate our
differences while unifying through common interest. The will to be a successful citizen
entering back into society is a vision we see with clarity. We do this by gaining the skills and
obtaining the tools to better confront life's challenges that awaits formally incarcerated
individuals. Acknowledging everyone's needs are not the same, we take the time to
personalize resources and relationships to ensure a successful transition.
2)We are not only thinking about the benefits for ourselves, but the domino effect our
personal growth will have on our families, friends and overall community. Normalizing
positivity and progressiveness is the solution to these problems. We realize we can not do
these things alone. No one person, nor group can. Our togetherness is our superpower, so we want to show the world that if we can come together to accomplish our goals they can assist us in our efforts.
3)Resources are essential to our rehabilitation, however, majority of the incarcerated population are deprived access to them and uneducated on how to utilize them. The problem is when confronted with such a dilemma, if not given the proper skills and tools we plan on offering, it will result in returning to what is familiar rather than learning something new. We plan on assisting to pave a road to success by laying out everything that is needed in order to obtain housing and employment before they are released.
